SB 744 -- COUNTY SURVEYOR

SPONSOR:  Caskey

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass" by the Committee on Local
Government and Related Matters by a vote of 15 to 1.

This bill requires Cass County to elect a county surveyor
beginning with the general election in 2004 and every four years
thereafter.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill will allow Cass County
to elect a surveyor.

Testifying for the bill was Senator Caskey.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
